What is Mercari?

Mercari App…Mercari is an e-commerce company founded in February 2013 and currently operating in Japan and the United States.

It allows buyers and sellers to buy and sell online on a website, or on an app with a smartphone.

Selling on Mercari

Mercari made it easy to sell on its App with a simple model: sell it, ship it, get paid.

You can sell stuff you don’t use anymore for cash, or make money as a reseller selling merchandise you flip for a profit. Items you sell on Mercari can be new or used.

From fashion to toys, electronics to shoes, Mercari allows you to sell in all categories. If you have stuff you don’t use, the Mercari App will help you sell it.

How To Sell on Mercari?

It is very simple to sell on Mercari, everybody can do it, just follow the steps below:

1- Create Account: You can create a new account by using your email or facebook. Click here to sign up online and claim your $10 credit.

2- Download App: Download the Mercari App on your smartphone, from either the Google Play Store or iTunes.

3- Start Selling: Login to your account, list your items, and start selling immediately.

Tips on Making Money with Mercari App

I’m an online reseller. I sell mostly men’s and women’s clothing on Mercari, Ebay, Poshmark, and my websites thourgh Shopify and WordPress.

Below are some tips to help you start selling or increase your sales on Mercari App:

Photos:

Before you list an item for sale, remember to take good photos.

Potential customers won’t spend their money unless they can clearly see the item they are willing to purchase.

The more photos you take, the better. Photos with white background are proven to attract more visitors.

Price:

Have a pricing strategy before you price an item.

I list my items at an affordable price because my strategy is to make a small profit, to move inventory and to reinvest in my business.

Your strategy can be different, just keep in mind that potential customers are looking for the best deal online, and they’re not willing to pay retail prices.

Description:

Make sure your description is very detailed.

It’s important to mention any problems with your item. Customers appreciate honesty, and will leave you a good review.

Size, measurements, condition, and any other descriptive elements that can help a potential customer make a purchase will be a good addition to your description.

Offers:

Online shoppers try to find deals online, so try to be flexible in pricing and accept reasonable offers from your customers.

My experience as a seller on Mercari App showed me that the platform’s customers are better when it comes to offers than some other marketplaces.

Customer Service:

When you start selling on Mercari App, expect to answer potential customers questions.

Try to answer as quick as possible, and try to be courteous when communicating with potential buyers.

Feedback:

Attractive prices, good customer service, good communication, items as described, etc. are factors that will make your customers happy, and get you more positive feedback.

I found out that the more positive feedback I get, the more sales I make.

Listing and Offers:

Ebay sellers end items and relist them to keep their store active. On Poshmark, sellers follow other users and share their closet to keep it active.

I found out that making offers to likers, promoting items and listing everyday on Mercari App are the best ways to keep your store active and get more views.

Your item’s sold. Time to ship. Mercari will email you a printable shipping label (unless you select to ship on your own).

The app will send you a notification asking you to ship the item you sold within 3 business days, and provide you with the suggested shipping label based on the item weight, packaging, and the size of the box.

I prefer The Mercari prepaid label, because the app offers low, fixed rates with USPS or FedEx for packages weighing up to 150 lbs.
