It can take longer depending on the season and the time of the day you are travelling, and if you are going from Tampa to St Petersburg or coming in the opposite direction.

Because of the fast growing Economy in Tampa Bay, a lot of work is being done around I-275 S and W Gandy Blvd, this is why there is no better way to travel between Tampa and St Petersburg.

When work is done, W Gandy Blvd in my opinion will be the fastest way, because the work being done now at a fast pace will be connecting the crosstown to I-275 S, wish will improve traffic in Gandy Blvd and make it easy to go from Tampa to St Petersburg and vice versa.

Expect more traffic in busy times in the morning and around 5 O’Clock, and also in winter time when more tourists come to Tampa Bay to enjoy the beautiful weather away from the cold, and what this beautiful area has to offer.

The distance between Tampa Airport and St. Petersburg Airport is only 14.9 miles.

The average price using a cab is about $40 and around half of that if you choose the services of a rideshare company like Uber and Lyft.
